How To Make Ice Cream Without Ice Cream Maker

Ingredients:

-Two cups of heavy milk (chilled)

-One 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk (chilled)

For 1-liter ice cream, all you need is two cups of heavy cream (which has been chilled) and pour it into the mixer and whip it until it forms stiff peaks. After that happened to add sweetened condensed milk (which also chilled). Now slowly mixing that into the whipped cream. Then add a bit of vanilla extract and mix again. You can customize this base with any flavor you want or you can just keep it as vanilla flavor. Store them in a box and freeze for six hours before serving.

How the ice cream maker works:

Generally, ice cream makers prepare the mixture by employing the hand-cranking method or by employing an electric motor. The resulting preparation is often chilled through either pre-cooling the machine or by employing a machine like a freezer that freezes the mixture.

Usually, an ice cream maker has to simultaneously freeze the mixture while churning it so as to aerate the mixture and keep the ice crystals small.  As a result, most ice creams are ready to consume immediately after making. Types of ice cream maker

make ice cream at home

There are four different types of electric ice cream machines available in the market. Each of them has an electric motor which drives the bowl or the paddle to stir the mixture. The main difference between the four is how the cooling is performed.

Among them, Built-in freezer machines are the easiest to use. These machines are usually larger and have a freezing mechanism built in so they do not require a bowl to be pre-chilled. A few minutes after starting the cooling system, the mixture can be poured in and the paddle started. As with coolant-bowl machines, ice cream is ready in twenty to thirty minutes depending on the quantity and recipe. These kinds of ice cream makers can be used immediately with no preparation, and they make any number of batches of ice cream without a delay between batches. These machines are usually kept permanently in one position ready for use making them impractical in smaller kitchens.

How To Make Ice Cream With An Ice Cream Maker:

Ingredients for 1-liter ice cream: –

-120 ml whole milk

-300 ml whipping cream

-yolks of 4 eggs

-70-gram caster sugar

Method

Believe it or not, all ice cream stars with as custard so you need to begin by making a custard base. For 1-liter worth of ice cream, pour 120 ml whole milk and 300 ml of whipping cream into a saucepan. Bring up to a simmering point over to a medium heat. Meanwhile, separate the yolks from the whites from 4 eggs and it’s the yolks you’ll need to keep to make the custard. now, pour the 4 egg yolks into a large mixing bowl followed by 70g caster sugar. Use either an electronic hand whisk or a food mixer, thoroughly combine the ingredients together until the mixer is nice, thick and pale. When the cream and the milk has come to a simmering point, remove it from the heat. slowly begin whisking the sugar and the egg mixer most carefully pouring in the hot cream and milk. Once done, take the mixer and pour into a clean saucepan. If you’re making a basic vanilla ice cream, you’ll also need to add some vanilla extract. Now begin stirring a low heat continuously until the mixer starts to thicken. I’s important to keep it over a low heat, otherwise, the eggs will scramble. You’ll know its thick enough when the custard is able to stick the back of a wooden spoon. When that’s the case, pour the custard into a heatproof bowl, cover and leave to chill thoroughly in the freeze.

If you’re making any other flavored ice creams, you can make these flavorings in the meantime.

Strawberry Flavored Ice cream

For a strawberry flavored ice cream, take some strawberries that have been blended and sieved into a saucepan, pour in some sugar then heat over a medium heat until reduced down and become nice and syrupy. Then leave it to chill thoroughly.

Chocolate Flavored Ice cream

For a chocolate flavored ice cream, add some chocolate and hazelnut spread, or some melted chocolate into the custard whilst its thicken up. Then leave it to chill in the fridge.

Use the Ice Cream Maker

Once everything is chilled, take the bowl from the ice cream maker. With the paddle in place, pour in the custard, plus any others flavorings that you’ve made. Then place the bowl back into the ice cream maker with the lid on and then power it up. Set the desired hardness settings for your ice cream, then let the machine run its course. If you had any add-in ingredients, (like crushed hazelnut for example), add this in about 15 minutes before the ice cream has finished its work. When the machine says it’s finished, or when the ice cream is nice and thick and churned, remove the ice cream from the machine. Separate into freezer-proof containers. If the ice cream is still a little soft, leave to firm up for another hour or so in the freezer.

There you have it, that’s how to make your very own ice cream at home. Trust me, when it’s homemade, it’ll taste more delicious.
